With most miscarriages you will experience some bleeding...but if you are feeling uneasy it is best to see the doctor.
In the first trimester you may have some terrible pains - the round ligament stretching can be awful (in fact I though I was having an ectopic pregnancy they got so bad with number 2 on only one side...but she was fine). The time I miscarried I was having spotting over a few days times that got more and more in quantity.
But go ahead and go to the ER if you need the reassurance. They can do the u/s and show you that all is probably well.

I was about 3 months when I had a miscarriage. Before I had the miscarriage I started noticing bad abdominal pain ( pain in your lower part of your stomach). Then came the bleeding. I hurt so bad that I soon couldn't sleep for a long period of time and then eventually I hurt so bad I could barely walk. I had to have help walking around. If I were you I would go to the E.R. and tell them of your pains and concerns.I hope this helps and I hope that you will be able to keep your child because you don't want to experience the physical and mental pain that I as well as other girls have experienced. Good luck girl.

Bleeding is the first sign of a miscarriage, and is often accompanied by cramping worse than menstrual cramps. Pain in the midsection can be all kinds of things, mostly the muscles and tendons stretching to make room, and if they're not accompanied by bleeding then most likely you have nothing to worry about. If you've had an ultrasound and confirmed the pregnancy is uterine and not ectopic (tubal), then take some Tylenol (NOT advil/ibuprofen or Aleve/naproxen) and take it easy for the rest of the day*.
*this is, of course, not to be taken as medical advice because I am not a doctor. I speak from my own experience with two miscarriages and one pregnancy carried to term. If you're really worried, call your health care professional; also, get a really good pregnancy book like "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" and familiarize yourself with the wide range of "normal."

You should go to the hospital. It doesn't sound like a miscarriage but if the pain is severe it could be your appendix or you could have a severe bladder or kidney infection (although that would hurt more in your back). They will do an ultrasound and check to make sure if everything is ok. If it puts your mind at ease and gets you to stop worrying then it is worth it. Good luck.

Going through a miscarriage is hard. Warning signs to look out for is #1 Bleeding. #2 Cramps, starting off like your regular period, then gettng harder and closer. You should see your doctor as soon as possible.

Consult your OBGYN. If they are not there, they should have an emergency number for him/her after hours. They'll most likely want to see you for an appt.

lets see..you are having terrible pains in your stomach and you are pregnant. so the course of action that is best is to boot up your computer, log into yahoo post a question and wait a few more hours to see what strangers who are not medically trained have to say INSTEAD of calling your doctor to see what you should do.
Makes perfect sense!
