You are missing some operators... I'll assume it is:
f(x) = 4x - 3
Simply plug in 1 for x:
f(1) = 4(1) - 3
f(1) = 4 - 3
f(1) = 1
(Note: I'm only guessing at your function. Certainly if you meant for there to be a plus sign, or an exponent operator, or something else, then the number changes. But the method is the same. Just pretend the x was a 1 and solve from there.)

IF F(x) = 4x + 3
F(1) = 4(1) + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7
IF F(x) = 4x - 3
F(1) = 4(1) - 3 = 4 - 3 = 1
IF F(x) = 4x3
F(1) = 4(1)3 = 12(1) = 12

depends...plus or minus 3?
if its plus 3 then the answer is 7
if its minus 3 then the answer is 1
all u do is subsitute 1 for x so it would be 4(1) 3
