Hello everyone. I'm joined a new band, and things are pretty good so far. I would like to get a nice set of head/cabinet for my new set up. It's kinda hard for me because i need to find an excellent sound for the kind of guitar playing i do.

If you have listen to bands like Billy Talent, you would notice that there are more than just regular chords in their music. Those single notes that totally change the sound of a chordf that Ian D'Sa [guitars] plays are a perfect example of the kind of sound i wanna get. Clean and very noticeable.

Now, i tried the Marshall 800 100W Head, and it was pretty good. Then i tried the Fender 60W Supersonic Head AMP and the sound was awesome! I need to get something like that, but the prices are a little too high for me now, and that's not counting the cabinet. I would like somebody to help me with this. What other brands should i try? Whatr about MESA? WHAT ABOUT THE CABINET???

Please help....

Mesa/Boogie is an awesome brand, but it's hard to find a dealer, and it'd cost a lot. You should try all sorts of brands, don't be limited to one. You never know if you'll find one that you like and it's cheap. What sort of cabinet are you looking for (like 2x10" or what?)? It depends if you're band is going to be serious, like going to be gigging or not. If you're not going to be in a while, then save up for a really good amp. I rushed into buying a Fender Rumble 100 Combo amp a while back, and now that we're going to be gigging, I'm not sure if it's going to have enough power or not. See, if I saved up until now, I would've had enough for an amp head and small cab.

Peavey might be in your price range. They are durable amps and they have solid state or tube amps. You might want to see how your guitar sounds through different amps instead of just hearing someone else play through them. Also, you might be mic-ing your amp so you may not need a giant stack of heavy, back breaking speakers. Good luck with the band.
