A discharge as you get closer to the age of starting your period is normal. It should be clear or white and have no odor. If you notice an odor or change of color, it could be the sign of an infection.
If the discharge comes with the sensation to use the bathroom, it could also indicate a urinary tract infection or a yeast infection. Sometimes you get both at the same time.
Urinary tract infections don't usually cause a discharge but make you feel like you have to pee all the time and it burns when you go. If you experience this, you will need an antibiotic to prevent it from progressing to a kidney infection.
A yeast infection causes a white discharge that is often thick and sometimes looks like cottage cheese. It can make you feel itchy and very uncomfortable. A medication that you can buy at a pharmacy is available, but you should always see a doctor for your first diagnosis of infections so you can feel confident that you are treating your symptoms correctly.
Becoming a woman is a confusing time and our bodies do strange things. Don't feel embarrassed to ask questions, there are books available at your local library to offer you guidance with tough questions.
Get a mirror and familiarize yourself with your body so you know when to look for changes, bumps, rashes and more.
Keep a diary of symptoms and chart your periods when you get them. It's always important to receive good medical care. If your parents are not helpful, talk to your school nurse or guidance counselor for free medical services in your area.
The most important thing you can do to prevent problems is to stay clean. Shower regularly and change underwear everyday. Cotton panties are best and keep infections at bay.

(What's a guyntologist?)
Your vagina produces a small amount of thick mucus to keep the skin moist and to protect against bacteria and such. It will ooze all the time once you've started puberty, and thru the rest of your life, and will change in consistency and color throughout the month. Your dr will be able to tell you how close you are to beginning to menstruate. Best bet is to have a little chat with your mom or other woman you trust, and ask her your questions.

If you are a woman: Did you just have sex? If you did than is normal. If you had it last night and semen drips during the day, than it is also normal. (the last mentioned just means that your fallopian tubes are clear and open).
You might be expecting your menstrual period and your vagina tends to be more wet right before the onset of your menstrual period. (very normal)
If you are a guy: What were you doing or thinking right before you realized you needed to go and urinate?

Its discharge. Sounds normal unless its excessive. Sounds like you are going to start your period soon. Maybe next week, maybe a month. Your body is getting ready for it. Have a talk with your mom :)
