winzip is probably what you need, like they said before...there are also files out there that are zipped with a program called rar. you might need to download that software as well.. it will be a free trial tho.

Simple fix, if I understand the problem. Download a ZIP utility. There is a number of them available. Here's the link to a popular one:

get winzip and extract to My documents\EAgames\thesims2\downloads file
