there is not a normal weight gain.... everyones body is different and so is every pregnacy... I am 18 weeks, and I have gained 6 lbs... , however with my first pregnancy I gained 25 lbs by the 16 week... Last time I had a boy, so I am thinking this one might be a girl.

Also: I hope this helps......

One of the most important things you can do to prepare for the birth of your baby is to eat nutritiously so you gain weight gradually throughout your pregnancy. If you're expecting just one baby:

During the first trimester, you should gain 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per month.

During the second trimester, you should gain 1/2 to 3/4 pound each week.

During the last trimester, you should gain about 1 pound per week.

i would discuss this with your doctor. As everyone is different. I was overweight when I had both my kids so we were careful to watch my weight. With my first son I gained about 26 pounds (which I understand is average) my second son I ate so healthy and only gained 16 pounds overall and he was a 10 pound baby!

Please be careful about some of the information you get here, it will never replace your Dr's advice as that is the one person who does know you!

Congrats on your lil miracle!

they usually like you to gain at least 10 pounds by the 20th week, but everyone is different. just be sure you're getting GOOD food, not junk - the weight matters less than the nutrients you're getting.
