After a short marriage, I realized that my wife is not fully honest with me and we got separated. Somehow I always feel she has been hiding her past from me. How can I know if she has been married before? Can I get any information about her past possible marriage and divorce and if so, where from? This is for UK

Only by having searches carried out at the Divorce Registry at Somerset House. These indexes are not open to public inspection at the Family Records Centre with other records.
Another way would be to search through the marriage indexes for her name but this will only be feasible if she doesn't have a fairly common name. If you do find evidence that she's married before, you can then approach the Divorce Registry with a date for a marriage, and they can carry out searches from one year after that date, since in England and Wales you can't start divorce proceedings until one year after your marriage.

Try and ask them..here in the US there are "people searches" that for a fee tell you if some one is /has been divorced before

sorry to hear that.. not 2 sure how to find out but i wud think that there wud be a record if she was married b4 , like the way one can obtain birth certificate etc.. mayb she wud have had an old bill or paper about somewhere, it wud be a very hard thing to hide, but id say if she has been that it wud have or eventually will come out... wish u well..

What you want to do is referred to as a "background check" They typically include marriages, divorces, arrests, etc.

The easiest thing to do is just ask , I'm not going to guarantee that they are going to tell you, but just find out. If you are still questionable ask around people that know her friends or family members

I don't know about there but here in the USA you just have to run a Public records search. Anything filed in any Court is public Information.
