Can i transfer stuff from my pc to my xbox with a ethernet cord?

As long as you have a Hard drive on the Xbox, and it is a Xbox 360... should be fairly straightforward, especially with the Media Center edition of XP

If going directly from your console to your pc, you'll need a crossover cable.

If using a router, a normal straight-through should work.

regular xbox works just fine as well.
check your dashboard and there is a setting in it for the ip address.
You need a router or hub.
