Probably around 200 songs assuming you are using mp3 type song files, maybe more depending on the size of the files and the quality level they are recorded in.

Mp3 format takes up about 1 meg per minute there are 1000 megs in a gig. so if the average song is 3 mins divide 1000 by 3 and you can have approximately 330 songs on I gig. Remember there is formating space so 1 gig is actually a tad less then 1 gig of actual free space.

The average song is 3.5 to 4 mb and there's 1000 mb in a gb so figure roughly 250 - 300 songs on average. This is just a guess. I just have a steady rotation of about 50 songs on mine.

Well, if you use it ONLY for music about 300. I have a 1GB memory stick just for music on my PSP, and thats as many songs as I can fit
