My favorite guy singer is John Legend. He's just so soulful and talented! A lot of the guy singers sound exactly alike. You can't tell one from the other when you hear their voice. But John Legend you can hear the first five seconds of the song and know that is him. My favorite ladies are Beyonce because girl can sang, yes I meant sang, Mary J Blige because she puts so much of herself into her music, Alicia Keys because she is very soulful, and Lauren Hill because she's multitalented, she can rap, sing play and write music. I really admire all of these people for their positive roles in music.

Favorite male singer is Glenn Danzig, they don't call him Evil Elvis for nothing. Favorite female singer is Brody from the Distillers, her voice is perfectly grimey and rugged.

for chick, I don't know her name, but the girl in Lacuna Coil. She's a good singer, with a great voice, but she doesn't try to make it sound pretty or delicate, which fits the genre great.

Male singer would be Peter Murphy because his vocals are deep and effortlessly outstanding. And for female it would definetly have to be Dolores O'Riordan, she has a beautiful voice and dynamic range.

Female....Janis Joplin or Stevie Nicks. Two Ladies who could and can take care of themselves. I like the attitude.
