My son died on Dec. 30. We played Brad Paisley's "When I get where I'm going". It was so beautiful. My baby was only 27 years old. He found out he had a brain tumor in Nov and was dead by Dec. 30.

When I Get Where I'm Going
By Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton

When I get where I'm going
On the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly
I'm gonna land beside a lion
And run my fingers through his mane
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here
I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
Then I'll hug his neck
So much pain and so much darkness
In this world we stumble through
All these questions I can't answer
So much work to do
But when I get where I'm going
And I see my maker's face
I'll stand forever in the light
Of his amazing grace
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
Hallelujah
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
Yeah when I get where I'm going

why would u want a good sad song about dying. And, if you're asking for planning a funeral; choose a happy thoughtful song that reflects that person's character.

But, I think "wind beneath my wings" is nice.

There's quite a few.

1. "Asleep" by The Smiths "deep in the cell of my heart, I will be glad to go..."
2. "Piano Song" by Erasure "I need to close my eyes, what hurts me most, I'll never see your eyes again..."
3. "Fade to Black" by Metallican ("I have lost the will to live, simply nothing more to give, there is nothing more for me, need the end to set me free...")
4. "dying" by XTC
5. "The Sound of Freedom" by The Swans ("and the pain the eats my mind, is the sound of freedom's lies...")
6. "Sulphur Man" by Doves ("fate, brought you, brought you next to ghosts...."
7. "Yesterday" by The Beatles
8. "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen

"Go Rest High" by Vince Gill, we played it at my mom's funeral (she committed suicide in July), I will never be able to listen to that song again. "Time of your life" by Green Day is a good one too, they played it at my friend's funeral (he was 28 and died of a massive heart attack) last April. I don't think that I will ever be able to listen to either again or at least not without thinking about dying.
