sorry... im american and i sometimes i see people on here say that they want to lose so and so stone. what is it?

its a measurement of weight, there's 14 pounds in a stone. I think 5-6 kilograms is equal to one stone but I'm not too sure :D

a stone is 14 pounds this most people want to loose a stone or two in weight that is 28 pounds not the Stirling pound that is money I don't want to loose that amount of cash if that is all I had in my pocket several miles from home

You as an Ameican dscribe a peron's weight just in pounds.A stone is our unit of weight measurement equal to 14 pounds.

Where you would decribe somebody as weighing say, 150 pounds, we would describe that weight as 10 stone and 10 pounds.
