Hello there, while tidying my shed out the other day I came across my old collection of jazz mags which brought back a lot of great memories, I instantly got on the phone and invited my mate round for a good session, just like the old days before we were married, when disaster struck and I damaged my ring with my mates tool. It all started when my wife was moaning about not having anywhere to store the ironing board that I had got her for christmas so I decided to clean the shed out and that's when I found my jazz mags, anyway my mate and I used to be in a jazz band called The Funkin' Ferrets so when he came round we decided to have a jamming session in the shed, my mate was on sax and I was blowing my trumpet. The thing is I can't play with my ring on so I set it aside while we played, during a solo on the sax my mate bumped into a shelf full of tools and sent them flying, unfortunately the hammer I had borrowed off him landed on my ring and bent it badly, can ring's be repaired?

I had a nasty experience of this ring bashing when i was alone with my mate!! I had to have someone look at it. It was very damaged indeed but I've now got the perfect ring as a good reshape and a polish and you would never have known that it was in such a bad state! I now try to keep heavy tools away from my ring!!!

WOAH! You know you could have just said I had an accident with a hammer and my wedding ring has been badly bent..........

Anyway - yes I reckon it can be repaired, but would prob be quite pricey. Don't worry about telling your wife though I'm sure she'd understand! She might be a tad upset at first but I'm imagining if I was her .......I find it kinda funny after a while!! =D

Just tell her, I think she be more upset if you hide it from her and she'll find out after wards. besides that, you didn't mess it up on purpose and there was no bad intend doing so.
Tell, you feel bad about it and just tell her the truth. my husband does takes his rings of at works, he is a machinist to protect them and his fingers.
And yes, a jeweler will be able to fix your ring, it may take a couple of day, but just speak up and you'll be fine. ( I guess, depending on what's your wife like ;) ). I wouldn't make a big deal about it if it happened to my husband, as long as he's honest about it, and accidents do happen at times.

Thanks for the laugh. As for your ring. Yes it can be saved. People bend their rings out of shape all the time. It happens. Tell your wife so she doesn't get upset with you and the go to the jeweler. They have tools to reshape the ring and they will clean it for you.

Yes. Take it to a jeweler. He/she will put it on a mandrel and beat it with a leather mallet to get it back to it's original shape, then they will buff it and polish it. If it's gold, it will be fairly easy to fix. Gold is a soft metal, very mallet-able. It will be good as new.
