I think you are under a lot of stress. By crying, your body is releasing proteins in your tears that releive stress. It is your body's way of releasing some stress. Have you tried walking, doing aroebic excercise, or some other outlet for your frustrations? Even quiet things, like knitting, or reading a devotional book, can help. Do you have someone to talk to, a counselor, priest, or other non-judgmental person? Don't worry about the small stuff, by that, I mean, how you are going to handle future events that haven't even happened yet. As you mature, you will be more able to cope as your experience with different challenges grows. Trials and tribulations build perseverence and character. Lessons are learned, and you learn survival techniques. You need to take a look at yourself, perhaps write down the good things you have done in life, and the things you like about yourself and what you have accomplished, just to reaffirm how unique a person you are, and what a value to the world you are. You may be very emotional, because you are very empathetic, and very sensitive to the needs of others, but there are some burdens you don't need to carry. You may have too much on your plate. Try the relaxation response technique; 15 minutes every day for 30 days, and you will be a calmer self. Try reading any of Paul Wilson's Calm for Life books, they are great.
If none of these suggestions are useful, go get a physical check-up to ensure that there are no ailments that are causing your emotional state. Or, you may want to try this first, to see if he or she would recommend a particular therapist. Good luck, and God Bless! :)

First, see a therapist or a doctor to make sure you're not suffering from depression. If they eliminate that as a possible cause, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. I used to cry alot at your age, too. Life will eventually give you perspective and toughen you up, but in the meantime, don't be afraid to cry as an outlet for your feelings. Everybody's gotta let them out some way, and crying a little is a lot healthier than some other ways, you know? Good luck!

Hi, There is nothing wrong with crying, however I can see where this could become a serious problem for you. I would suggest speaking to your doctor or a psychologist about it. There may be a deeper issue other than your emotions that could be fixed by talking through your emotions and finding the underlying cause or if there is a chemical unbalance in your brain it may be something that can be fixed with drugs. If you really want to find the problem though I would definatly talk to your doctor and/or a pshchologist.
Hope this helps :-)

Karin, first of all, stop refering yourself as a GIRL. Your now 21, that's a young woman. This crying could be that you are leaving childhood and your afraid of the unknown. You just don't know what life is gonna offer. Try to remember, That Life Is What You Make It. Don't be too proud to lean on someone and ask for direction. Ask your father and your mother for help. In the long run, it will make them feel better that you still need them.

That has happened to me my whole life, it was just something I couldn't control. But you know what? It doesn't mean you're a weak person. I have been through some pretty devastating things and am always amazed at how strong I really am, despite being a little sensitive at times. You do eventually develop thicker skin where certain things don't start the water works.

Sounds like you may have a serious problem called depression. I would suggest making an appt with your primary care doctor and discussing this with them. If you don't have a doctor look in the phone book and find one. There are many different medications that can be prescribed to you to help you feel better and stop crying all the time.

It's fine to cry a lot. You just let little things get to you. However, the people who seem the weakest (like you crying at little things) are really the strongest during hard times (like a person close to you dying).
It's also great that it makes you feel better. It's just a way for your body to release stress, just like other people relieve stress by exercising.

Well unfortunately for you the only solution is to just get thicker skinned. You have to realize there are few things worth crying over. My wife was like that and it got to the point I would just walk away until she was done then go back in. You need to start realizing what is worth your tears and what isn't. I don't mean to sound cold and unfeeling because I'm not.

There is nothing wrong with crying! It's perfectly natural. You are letting out your emotion. If you didn't cry as much, then you would probably bottle it in and suffer from anxiety or stress more often. Crying is a release, you should be happy you get to release as much as you do.
