its all about personal security and confidence in you or lack thereof in him that makes the male fearful. It is weakness in him, not just the strength in you that is at work here.

find a less insecure male. or an equal that can enjoy you

if a man is showing fear in the face of intelligence and assertiveness then he's not a man.

with that said, if your idea of assertiveness is constantly mocking someone, stepping ahead of them when they attempt to speak, never letting them have any moments of leadership or self expression, making them feel dumb... well then he's not afraid. He's just miserable and doesn't want to be around you
