That all depends on your body. Everyone is different. I didn't start to dialate until I was in the hospital being induced. But my mother was dialated to 4cm when she got to the hospital with my sister, she was full term, a week early I think. The point is, there's no way to predict it. I wish there was, God knows I wanted to know when I'd go into labor. You just have to wait for your time. Good luck.

I started to dilate at about 36 weeks. I stayed about 1 cm and 50% effaced until I was induced 2 days after my due date. it's different for every woman and you can walk around fairly dilated for weeks with no problems, or not be at all dilated until you actually start labor.

It usually takes at less 32 weeks but it sometimes really depends on the person because some people don't usually dilate until their in labor.

I only started to dilate at 39 1/2 weeks, the day before my son was born.
Some people start earlier, some later.
