People act evil for a whole host of reasons. Sometimes they believe they are doing good, an extreme example of which would be Osama Bin Laden. For others it is a way of striking out at authority and rebelling, or because they simply cannot see why they should be good. There also times when people do evil things because their emotions have got out of control.
However I think the main reason people commit evil acts is out of fear. If you look at the violence in Iraq most it is done by people who are afraid of the occupiers, and of their neighbors. The Ku Klux Klan was afraid its members would lose their power, and where afraid of non whites. I could give you many more examples but I think that might be a little boring.

From the other side of the mirror some might view your judgemental demenour as evil. I'm not saying that it is, just that I feel we do well to remain humble and accept that others may be right from other perspectives.

Free will! If not for the opportunity to be completely evil, we wouldn't have it! We are blessed to have the choice to be completely evil or good! But it is Godly to choose the second.

to act evil sometimes is a way the human being find to try to protect himself , people act by their impulses and sometimes evil can be misunderstood .

I suppose some people don't feel good about themselves, so the only way they have to feel good is by making others feel bad.

Bad childhood, no father, no mother, alone, never learned how to behave, short temper, high anger, anger issues, no love as a child, a stone heart. You have great parents who taught you right from wrong, and gave you a lot of love.
