Phil Knight it doesn't take great brain power to see that my statement along with the questions, suggest that when I say It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God, I mean it is impossible for humans to do so!

And if you have a reasonably high IQ or even a modest IQ you will realize that I "dissed" you without having to resort to calling you names!!!

If someone believes that God always existed, that doesn't automatically suggest that the universe then also always existed.

God is not a math problem; you do not prove or disprove. There is absolutely no evidence for any such being. In fact, positing such a being, creates a much bigger explanatory problem than the being explains.

I believe that God always was. God always exsiting is part of Him being God ( after all something has to have always been. Whether it's nothingness or God something has ALWAYS been in exsitence ) and I believe that you can prove the exsitence of God ...
The proof of God is in His creation. For instance if I ask you to prove to me that a certain building ( any building ) had a builder what would you say ? Well, most likely you'd think that's a stupid question but you would probably tell me the fact that the building is even there is the very proof that it had a builder. ( after all when was the last time that you were walking down the street and actually pondered how a building came into exsitence ) Like wise if I asked you to prove to me that a certain painting had a painter you'd probably tell me that the fact that the painting is there is proof that there had to be a painter. In the same way if you saw 50 coke cans stacked up in a pyramid you would automatically know that someone stacked them up like that.
So the point of saying all that is, the proof for God's exsitence is in His creation. Look around you. What do you see ? You see structures, art, and order... perfectly built lungs, amazing sunsets, and DNA that is so complex we don't even fully understand it ! In Romans 1:20 ( from the Bible) it says:
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible
qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have
been clearly seen, being understood from what
has been made, so that men are without excuse.
In the end then, we are without excuse if we don't believe in God because He has displayed Himself ( His attributes, who He is... etc ) in His awesome creation !
P.S. You are right about there not being a way to disprove God.
Have someone try to do it for you sometime... it should be interesting ! ; )
P.S.S. That was a good question. : ) Keep seeking THE Truth !!!
HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR !!! : )

The answer to a problem like this lies in the separation between two things:
1) The universe coming into existence out of nothingness
2) The role of religion and mythology in societies.
A myth is someone else's religion. And the question to prove or disprove the existence of God would lead to either religious people claiming that He was always there and taking His existence personally (due to their relation with God).
And Atheist people who tend to become Anti-theists. The question is not about the mythological being of God but about the problem that at sometime in time something came out of existence out of nothing. Even God has to come from something.
And if you have the opinion that God always existed, then I say, so did the universe! So were back at the beginning again.
The big bottleneck is our perception of time. We tend to believe that an object (as the universe) began in nothingness and will end in destruction.
That might not be the case. Scientists have not any proof that time flows or passes. They only know that it exists. And in Quantum Physics, past, present and future are just as real.
So our perception of time might cause this paradox. Because the existence of the universe (and thus, God) is contradictory. It's logically impossible.
So, if we ever want to answer this question we need to change our point of reference.

Some folks feel that God encompasses everything. If so then the emptiness that God sprang from is also part of God. The ground which God stands on is part of such a God. Separation is illusion under this philosophy, as is time, there are not two things in the whole cosmos ...

You are right that there is no way to prove that God exists. Not through man made methods anyway. We know He exists when we develop a personal and intimate relationship with Him. It is a supernatural thing. That is why we cannot prove it with natural methods. God has always been. He is the author and Creator of everything.

Jimmy, you're a dolt.
God is the invention of man.
God could be proven, if god existed, he certainly could prove his existence, now couldn't he. So it is in error to claim that god could not be proven....
