Well, They planned to have the movie released in 2002. Since its now 2007, I have that sickly cold feeling in my gut that Red Dwarf is deader than Rimmer before he became a hologram.
What the hell is going on? Red Dwarf is a exellent program!!! They had the cast do voice commentary for all 8 DVD releases these last few years so they're all still doing well.
COME ON guys! get your smegging acts together and dont let the fans down.

No news since last year. Script is done, all the actors have signed up for it, but somehow the money still isn't there. Should the film not be done they will write a Red Dwarf IX series and the BBC are expected to sanction it.

The producers can't get the financial backing.Rimmer doesn't want to be involved anymore, Kryten & Cat fell out in real-life & refuse to work together.Chloe Annett had a baby a while back.So all in all i think it's a non-starter.

The script is written (has been for years), it is just getting the people together and the funding.
It looks like we may well have to make to with another (final?) series.

i had read it was this year but its always being said oh this we are doing it and it never happens ,was like the series where did that go just stopped and never cam back on.
