drop trillions of land mines around the entire Iraq border, instruct the Iraq women and children to report to a nice camp to be taken care of for a while. Instruct all Iraq men to report to another camp as well. Instruct all foreigners to leave immediately, Fly over one last time and drop flyer's reminding all to follow above mentioned instructions by X number days. When that day comes, carpet bomb everything, everywhere, endlessly for days on end. In preparation for this event, hire Americans to build an unbelievable amount of remote controlled, armed robotics like the few we're using now. Then send in the bots with a massively overwhelming American force and kill anything that's not in those camps. After the terrorist and insurgents are gone, divide Iraq into three (Too bad, if you can't get along, then you can't play together), let the camp open up and send the Iraq people to there section of Iraq. Then ask for volunteers from the 12 million illegal aliens in the USA to go to iraq to rebuild it. The Iraq people can use the money from all the oil they have to pay the illegals (and well), so they can have a better life and send even more money back home.

I would make a back alley political move to have the new Iraqi government to make it temporarily illegal for all world press to be in the country. Then have them removed form Iraq. I would then move all coalition forces out into the desert. Then I would make a videotape like Osama does. And I would send it to all known Al Qaida hideouts and I would send copies to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and North Korean president Kim jong ll. I would calmly and assertively tell them that the gloves are off. This is your First, last, and only warning. All hostile acts against the US military forces, citizens, and allies will stop immediately. If there is one more attack, threat of violence, or any show of force that is considered to be even remotely hostile to the US. Weather it is now, ten months from now, a year, or ten years from now. Our Country will unleash a firestorm on every party considered to be hostile towards the US. NO mercy, as you have no consideration for the Geneva Convention nor shall we. The speed and efficiency of the retaliation will be so swift and brutal that no foe will be left standing by time the news hits the media.

I would give them 6 more months to get their act together and then I would start pulling the troops out. We do not belong in Iraq and Iraq does not belong to us. I think we should dismantle the military as we know it and start to build small maybe a 1000 man striking force's, a force that is light on its feet and can go into a country do the job and get out. There would never be another occupying force in the U.S. future. I would keep the Navy, and the Air Force and the rest I would put to work securing our borders and for intelligence work. I do not think that we can defeat a gorilla war. When we occupy a country all we do is incite that. We could have dropped a 1000 men into Baghdad and got Saddam and took him out of the country before the Iraq Army knew we were there. All we are doing is making a mess, and a surge in troops will bring even more terrorist to Iraq. It is a never ending cycle as it was in Vietnam. But intelligence is the key word and there is none in our leadership at the moment.

I dont know, but this is the best question I have seen today. The first thing that should be done, is to destroy the Mahdi Army, and arrest Muqtada Al-Sadr, as a show of good faith to the Sunni's. I would attempt to force the three factions to negotiate if that would yield any results. I would probably see what the Iranians and Syrians had to offer, though I know nothing will come of it. I would increase the size of our military, focus more on the training of Iraqi security forces, increase inteligence spending, and I would ask the Generals for a frank assesment of the situation.

Though I really dont know what I would do, because I really dont know the situation.

I would send more troops to stabilize the situation, because if u dont, Saudi Arabia had said the would provide funds to support the Sunnis and Iran woud support the Shia. It's a no win situation no matter what; send or not send. Let me give u an example: the Katrina crisis with crimes going up....sending more police forces to stabilize the city and cover more area will deter crimes, robbery, thiefs, ect......

Once the situation in iraq improves then troops can be pulled out and the the Iraqi people and government can take over their destiny.

Recognize that it was a mistake and that there is no "right" answer to that question. Every solution presented so far has a very large downside.

Therefore, take the path that saves the most American lives. Train the Iraqi sects that are most just to defend their own country, subsidize the cost of arms, equipment, etc. And get our boys out ASAP.

Sure, civil war will ensue, but it will keep them busy while we get back to finding Osama, negotiating with N. Korea, and regrouping for an inevitable showdown with Iran in the next 5 years.

I would take the counsel of the JCS, General Staff, the commanders, State Department, NSA, CIA, DoD, etc, review the data, review the recommendations, suggest an overall strategy, review the benefits and negatives, and once it was thoroughly thrashed out, I would take it from there.

Because I do not have access to their information or counsel, I cannot say what the correct plan would be.

But I think that ALL Americans should support it and hope that it proves successful. It's pretty vile for so many to have spoken out so, as if their hopes rested on it being a failure.

The American face there is that of a colonial and Americans, in their history, should know how "welcome" colonials are. The oil contract that Dumbya wants to impose for the benefit of Dumbya cronies, even though ostensibly "passed" by the puppet Iraqi gov't, is a source of validation of the reality of colonialism. This is on top of the Iraqi gov't's weakness with regard to providing safety and economic basics for the people makes this a total FUBAR. Americans caused much of the problems and they are and are capable of being NO part of the solution.

Take the gloves off of the soldiers fighting over there, That way they wouldn't have to worry about going to jail if they shoot someone that is shooting at them. Use more of our military technology to find the "bad" guys and kill them, do not take them prisoners because lawyers in our country will defend them and send them back in the battle field to kill us. Don't worry about being politically correct if you are a Muslim in this country you are a suspect, this is a card they Delt to themselves. If you look like a terrorist and act like a terrorist you will be questioned and possibly detained.

That is such a great question! Because I am still in support of our President, I say give him this one more try, and if it fails... well, let the Iraqis destroy their own people instead of ours. You're probably going to get a lot of "get the troops out of there" answers...but what about after 9/11.....what would people have done. That's a great question that nobody can answer because we just don't have all the facts.
