Hey, good question. I love playing Happy Birthday on my trumpet. Since you have a choice of 12 keys to play it in, let's learn it in the easiest to start with. The note low C ('middle C' for piano language) is a good point of reference, so we'll be in the key of F for this lesson. Starting on low C, the 5th note of the F major scale, the scale that this song is built on, here we go:
C C D C F E (Hap-py birth-day to you,)
C C D C F E (Hap-py birth-day to you,)
C C C(8va) A F E D (Hap-py birth-day dear G-man,)
Bb Bb A F G F (Hap-py birth-day to you,)
As you can see and hear from playing it now, this song spans only one octave. It is a great song for beginners because of this reason. 8va is the symbol for 'up an octave', by the way.
Now, for more advanced players, this song still has good use to be made of it. Try playing this song in another key, but without writing anything down or reading music. Instead, learn the "digitals" of this tune. 'Digitals' are numbers given to notes, used as a way to remember melodic patterns, rather than exact pitches. For instance, if F is our root note (of the F major scale), then you could say that F G A would be 1 2 and 3. E would be 7, because it is the 7th degree of the F major scale. I'm sure you can fill in the gaps, but to make sure, let me just point out that Bb is number 4 and B would be called a 'sharp 4' (#4). This is because the F major scale has a Bb in it and not a B. Learn the cycle of 4ths, order of flats and sharps and general scales and you'll do well!
Below is Happy Birthday written in digitals:
5 5 6 5 1 7 (Hap-py birth-day to you,)
5 5 6 5 2 1 (Hap-py birth-day to you,)
5 5 5(8va) 3 1 7 6 (Hap-py birth-day dear G-man,)
4 4 3 1 2 1 (Hap-py birth-day to you.)
Enjoy playing in multiple keys and being the star of the parties!

Your basic trumpet book usally has it in there. In a pinch if you have a piano book that has it in there you can play it on a trumpet also. Just play the top notes if not already a single note song.

Figure it out by ear. Then memorize it. Get some help from a musician if needed. Everyone should learn Happy Birthday on their instrument.

The same way you play just about anything else - you hold the trumpet to your mouth, blow into the mouthpiece, and press and release the valves.
