That is also called an "idiot light". I have 15 mile left when my light comes on.................then Im walking. They were designed to give people a better idea of when to get gas, instead of guessing with the gauge only. Test it. Get a gas jug(full). Mark the mileage the light comes on and keep driving...........thats the only way you will know.

When you find out, remember the number. It will be unique for that car. I had two identical models (not at the same time) but one fuel guage was always far more optimistic than the other. I would guess that there is enough for another 20 miles but as you posted 2 days ago, you will already have found out. Personally I do not like the stress of the needle getting low so I try to keep plenty in the tank.

It depends on how you drive, but usually you can drive another 60 miles after the warning light comes on. But don't count on it, turn into the next gas station.

Anywhere from 40 to 100 miles in most cars, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.
