my doctor just prescribed me provera(progesterone challenge) 10mg for 7 days to see if i have any withdraw bleeding and if i do then she will start me on metformin ans test my LH and FSH levels(not a diabetic nor do i have PCOS)just to see if that will simply get me ovulating again and possibly conceive. I have been pregnant befor but sadly i lost it do to abuse..If i don't have any withdraw bleeding she is going to do a cat scan and a ultrasound and send me to a OBGYN for further testing..Should i ask her to test my testosterone levels???can you tell me exactly what it means if i do have withdraw bleeding, and what it means exactly if i dont have withdraw bleeding after my progesterone challenge...would only like 21+experienced to answer back on this one. thanks. I would also like to know anybody out their that just stopped having a period and wasnt ovulating and if they figured out what it was...thanks guys

if you have a withdrawal bleed then it means that the hormonal system is probably altered but the uterus is working fine, if you don't ahve a bleed then she may look for an anatomical defect. Anyways testosterone testing may not help at all. try to read up these things on webmd.com, mayoclinic.com, familydoctor.org or NIH websites. they will also help you improve your understanding, otherwise never hesitate to call up the doctors nurse and ask her how things work, good luck
