Snails are found in virtually all fresh water and marine habitats in the world - ponds, streams, lakes, rivers, and all the world's seas and oceans, from the shallowest to the deepest parts. They are also found in all terrestrial habitats except polar regions and other areas of perpetual sub-freezing temperatures like the tops of the highest mountains.
