I dont agree with prosititution, but sometimes I think the cops are creating a situation for crime that may not actually take place when they go undercover and do these busts. Like on the show cops they arrested a 77 year old man for picking up a supposed hooker who was actually a cop. The old man said he just wanted the coversation. I mean what if he was telling the truth? He said he's just a nice man giving ppl a lift.

I think they're wrong for that because as a police officer they should "keep an honest man honest". What are they gonna do when a woman who gets busted for prostitution says she was gonna call the cops when she got a John.?

If the old man was telling the truth then he'd be let go eventually. Just because he's arrested doesn't mean he's guilty of a crime. They can only arrest people in those kind of sting operations if they agree to some kind of transaction (usually money for something). I believe they're fair because if the person agrees to pay something for something in return, they screwed up.

I like the idea. It's just like the undercover cop who walks around pretending to be drunk so he can get mugged. Besides, they wait until the guy talks about paying them to have sex until they go in for the arrest.

glad to see you dont agree with prostitution. well that's why you are innocent until proven guilt, and in his case he was soliciting prostitution, In all aspects police stings, are a crime deterrent. since people locally see whats going on and in the end tell others and scare off local prostitution, but until the neighborhood that the prostitution is in gets better, then the prostitution will continue.

Well it's technically entrapment, and prostitution is thought of by a lot of people as a victimless crime, so I can see your argument. But I also think sting operations are just one more way to keep bad people off the street and out of our neighborhoods.

They usually won't make an arrest until the guy makes reference to the exchange of money for "favors."

I think they should legalize prostitution and tax the hell out of it.
