My ex is out of the country. While he was home for X-mas he pushed me around and hit me. I pressed charges. The state is charging him with Class A misdemeanor assault. Will they bring him back home to face charges or will they wait until his job is finished in March? Thank you

What I meant is will they force him or his company to pay to send him home? How is it fair that he can put off his punishment...

"Generally, an extradition treaty requires that a country seeking extradition be able to show that:

The relevant crime is sufficiently serious.
There exists a prima facie case against the individual sought.
The event in question qualifies as a crime in both countries.
The extradited person can reasonably expect a fair trial in the recipient country.
The likely penalty will be proportionate to the crime."

It's a Class A misdemeanor assault (first offense??) and he's out of the country. Rather than spending money extraditing him to this country, they will probably wait until he returns (considering it's less than 3 months - not a long time in the Court system). But you should check with the prosecutor's office.

For an A Misdemeanor, they won't go get him. That's not cost effective. It'd cost way more to go get him than what his fine will be. But they will put a warrant out for his arrest and when he comes back, let them know where he is and they will go get him.

They won't extradite him. However, once he gets back in the US immediately contact the police and let them know where he is staying.

Nobody's gonna be extradited for that.

The state will draw up a warrant for his arrest, which won't expire.

When he comes home and gets pulled over, he goes to jail.

Since you pressed the charges, WTF do you care?

they'll wait for him to return to the country..why go to the expense of bringing him back if he'll come back on his own?

most likely they will bring him home. but you should discuss this with the prosecuting attorney and the judge to confirm.
