Do you mean Depo Provera? It affects different people in different ways. When I took the shot, (for 9yrs), I never had a menstrual cycle the whole 9 yrs. I've heard of women who never stop bleeding with it. Since I stopped the shot 7 months ago, I have had regular periods again. DARN IT!!!!!! But, if you've never taken the Depo Provera shot, I wouldn't recommend it. I gained lots of weight, it made me very tired, grouchy, and lowered my sex drive to non existent. Now, I feel so much better and sex drive is up. It ruined me for years. But, it is good for the birth control because you NEVER wanna have s*x!!!

the provera in the pill form is suppose to make you bleed, it does not work the way the shot does and i would never recommend getting the depo shot it is horrible...currently i have not had a period in over a year so my doctor prescribed me provera 10mg for 7 days to see if that brings on any menstrual bleeding for me aslo known as withdraw bleeding which i am suppose to get if i dont have any bleeding then something else serious might be wrong if i dont get any bleeding after stopping this progesterone challenge then i am going to have to get ultrasounds and cat scans to rule out the possiblity of a brain tumor due to the fact that i have already had my pituitary gland, thyroid, prolactin levels, liver/kidney function all checked which are most of the reasons why woman dont have periods and mine were all perfect..
