Well we had Dish Network but a lot of our channels wouldn't come in ever so we switched to Directv and we get every channel now all the time. We had nothing but trouble from Dish Network, they came out to our house like 7 times because we couldn't get channels and still didn't fix the problem. I wouldn't go with Dish Network.

Ok....I may be a little biased because I not only have Dish Network in my home, but I sell it as well. However, I have had both services and found that the packages are cheaper, you have more channel selection, less weather interferences, and the system is extremely user friendly. I would never have anything other than Dish Network in my home. Even the program guide is simpler to understand with Dish Network. Plus Dish Network is constantly upgrading equipment and packages to better service the customer. They really try to keep costs down to the customer even when channels like Hallmark, Courtv, and others want to jack up the prices. So...go Dish Network!!!

We've had both, now we're with cable. We had Dish and was satisified, but we found out from our phone company that Direct was offered thru them cheaper, so we changed over. We hated it the first night. They didn't highlight the channels you don't get, like Dish does (or is it the other way around, anyway, it was easier to see what you were getting and you didn't click on the channel and be told you're not subscribed). Direct also messed us up on signup. We were supposed to get a DVR and our channels for 19.95. Wrong. The lady on the phone, when I told her which package we wanted smartly said, the 19.95 is Spanish channels only, she even said it in Spanish. Pissed me off. Then she remarked, when I mentioned the DVR, well, aren't you getting enough with your package free (HBO, whoo hoo). So I would recommend Dish of the two, but I hate the one year contracts each makes you sign.

Hi,

I agree with most of my previous writers. I would clearly go for DISH cause:

- cheaper
- more channels
- more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.net - they currently run some promo. They are helpful and nice. If you have specific questions just call 'em up, doesn't cost a thing except a few minutes of your time.

Best wishes
Mike

I have DirectTV and they are terrible. I have had them for about a year now and have had nothing but problems. If there is any wind at all the channels are scrambled and you can't watch tv. We have called several times regarding this. Each time they send a technician they tell us something different and then the company wants to charge us 75.00 for each service call. When our contract is up I am definately not renewing.
