There are tons of things that can cause a computer to become slow. If you are on the internet alot, I would run an anti-spy program. Keyloggers will slow down a computer very quick, you might run virus-scan, delete unwanted files, and defrag your hard drive. How advanced is your system? Do you need more memory?

For Windows XP 512MB of RAM or more will make a system run much better than one with only 256MB of RAM. To check how much RAM you have right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Properties. A window will pop up and at the bottom will be a paragraph about your computer. If there is less than 512 MB of RAM then look into getting some more to speed up your system.

Internet access speed is a big part of how snappy web sites load, but also the web browser you use can make a difference. Many people find that Mozilla Firefox is much faster than Windows Internet Explorer.
