I don't know about hitting in the head...but I got the Box one year. My dad had brought home a new refrigerator and it came in a giant cardboard box. I got inside that thing and was playing like Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon ('don't get cocky, kid') when the damn thing started rolling down a hill. I nearly rolled into the street. If that had of happened the Emperor would have never been defeated in Episode VI. So, I guess the Box is the most dangerous sport.

Definitely not. Sure, players get hit in the face and can get serious brain injuries. But, each sport comes with danger. Football, for example where players get tackled, and UFC is far more dangerous than boxing. In all sports that element of danger is what makes 'em so popular.

It would be difficult to argue that boxing is pretty dangerous. It's sad to see what has happened to Mohammad Ali. He wasn't just he was one of the best boxers ever, he was very smart and could hold his own with some people who were considered to be very smart at the time. He not only out argued people who had been to Ivy League Schools, but he did it in poetry at the same time!

He held the title for awhile, but it was taken away from him when he refused to be drafted. After awhile the boxing commission thought he was too old to win the title back so they let him box again. But this time his opponent was not only younger but a stronger boxer and had killer punches.

In match for the heavyweight title, Ali invented a way that a boxer could win over another boxer who had the strong punch and longer reach. It is still used today. He called it "Rope a Dope."

But to look at him today and remember him as he was, it's so sad.

I started french boxing in september (it's different from english, because it uses both the hands and the feet) and to tell u the truth, it isn't what everybody imagines. Usually when i tell people, they're like Whaaat??? But honestly, it's not dangerous, it's obligatory to wear protection (chins, hands, teeth, crotch for the men, chest for the women, even special combat shoes not to hurt the adversary) It's actually not scary, we're not allowed to use force in class, we do fight in freestyle at the end of class, but without punching too hard. Then, there's also a difference between those who take it to learn for techniques, and those who learn for combat (so we're well separated).
I did receive some punches in the face or in the stomach, but i'm okay, nothing broke.
Boxing also really gives u confidence in urself... now, i'm not afraid anymore of being mugged or something, i know how to defend myself.
Try it!

I think any sport can be dangerous, i would not like my face hit as mean time as Boxers get it, look at skiing bob K died,
sonny died. race car drivers die, water skier was bit by a shark.
make sure you do what you love the best and is willing to die for.

Look at Mike Tyson. I think he has some brain damage from years of being pounded upside his head. There is no way it couldn't cause long term effects on some one
