I'm a pre-university student. I know clearly what is computer science, and I love it! I enjoy programming softwares, I enjoy working with algorithms, & .... . But some of my friends and family siad me that this science doesn't have good future atleast in our country (IRAN). I just want to know how is this science in your country?! Is it an Important science or not?!
Thanks,

although common people will say the contrary, in the U.S. Computer Science jobs are projected to increase. With everything being related to technology, I think CS is an important science in the U.S.

Perhaps the pay is not as much as it used to be (due to competition) but it still will be one of the top jobs in the US the next years.

(don't know about Iran)

After a career in the Military I went back to school and took Computer Science courses leading to a Master's degree. I have been employed in this new field for the past ten years and it has more than met my every expectation. I make great money, work regular hours and have plenty of resources to pursue personal interests. Iran may be behind most western countries in this particular discipline but your neighbor, India is searching everywhere for workers with these skills.

Computer Science has been killed in the USA by the outsourcing madness. India and China are taking all the programming jobs, and many US programmers are unemployed as a result. It's an important science, but unfortunately, it's something that someone can do half way across the world for pennies on the dollar. What's better is I.T. and systems engineering and administration. You cannot outsource server and data center engineers because the work requires them to be onsite.

By the way...how are those nuclear enrichment plants coming along for so called "peaceful" purposes? I'm sure they will need programmers to write guidance code for the ballistic missiles when the Ayatollahs lose their marbles and decide to nuke the planet because Allah told them so.

Boring, antisocial, and very nerdy. I liked programming until I tried it in college.
