24)Robert P. Lanza, vice-president for medical and scientific development at Advanced Cell Technology, said cloning would help reverse damage to wildlife habitat done by people. He called for zoos and wildlife officials to immediately begin collecting and freezing tissue samples of endangered species. "For a few dollars of electricity you can preserve the genes of all the pandas in China," he said. He also said cloning was not likely to work on long-extinct species because it would be difficult or impossible to find intact DNA. "You're certainly not going to be seeing dinosaurs in your yard anytime soon," he said.

25)Some organisms reproduce sexually. Sexual reproduction has certain advantages. It combines genes from two parents into a single organism. In order to do this, the genetic component of each parent must be reduced by half so that when these two halves are combined after fertilization, you return to the genetic component (in terms of numbers of chromosomes) as each parent has. So when making cells to be used in sex, each sex cell (gamete) gets half the usual number of chromosomes. The process which reduces the number of chromosomes is called MEIOSIS.

26)A gamete is a specialized germ cell that fuses with another gamete during fertilization (conception) in organisms that reproduce sexually. In species which produce two morphologically distinct types of gametes, and in which each individual produces only one type, a female is any individual which produces the larger type of gamete -- called an ovum (or egg) — and a male produces the smaller type — called a spermatozoon (or sperm cell) in animals, and a pollen grain in higher plants.

27)traits

I am sure the answers to those questions are found in the book you are using in your class. Open it and answer your homework. I guess you are too busy reading questions here that you no longer have time to answer your homework. If you were my daughter, I would spank you!!!

these are very basic questions in genetics.

whatever textbook you guys are using for this course will have all these answers. All you have to do is read it.

My advice would be to open your book instead of trying to get other people to do your work for you while you do whatever you think is more important.
