Let me ask you this, why not?

True that American- Middle East relations are tense (as always), but actually you'll find that the American government's opinions and the opinions of the American people are two different realms.

However if you feel the need for being close to other Arabs, there should be student groups to join that will celebrate your culture of being Arab on campus. There are also a number of religious groups you can join and be apart of.

What you need to worry about is this:

Do you have the right paperwork? And do you the have test scores that will transfer over to a US school? Is your medical history up to date? Do you have your passport? Do you have your student visa?

And most importantly, is this school right for you?

Americans are made up of Asians, Africans, Middle Easterners, Europeans, and South Americans as well as our Australian cousins so our opinions, values, and missions all vary, mingle, and evolve. Americans are not one type of people, that should be noted.

Welcome to the USA!! We love the Lebanese.... and even if you do look Arab, who cares??? Not all Arabs are terrorists. I have Arab friends, and they are fantastic people. Enjoy your stay in Washingt on. You will meet so many nice people and make a lot of new friends here.

you shudve came to NYU. In new york it doesnt matter what you are.

i dont noe how things are at washington university, but i dont think that it matters. Washington University is well known for their international studies and you are practically living proof of that. im very sure that you will enjoy your time here and dont worry about it at all.

I think there are no problems. Just some arab fraternities in universities are under suspicion, but individual people... no.

If this is where you want to study, then it is a good idea. I know a few arabs, and I consider them friends....well, except for one, and he is a cranky Tunisian :)
