It depends on your beliefs. If you follow the Christian credo closely, you should forgive, no matter what, whether that person asks for forgiveness or not.
In the end, it is up to you, and a lot of Christians don't follow the credo anyway. I am personally a Christian, and I find this forgiveness issue to be extremely difficult. It has taken me a long time to forgive people in the past, but I've found a way.
Good Luck!

Forgiveness is something that we do for ourselves, not for others. You forgive someone so that you don't hang on to negative emotion. It doesn't matter if the other person is remorseful or not, forgiving them will make you feel better and allow you to move forward without having that wrong weighing on your mind.

By choice. Remember, forgiveness is releasing them from what they did. It's not saying what they did was o.k. or right. It's saying you're not going to hold their offence against them. (Forgiveness is about you not them). But It does sound like you may need to set some boundaries with your offender, to help stop any repeat offending. "Boundaries" is a great book on the subject by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend.

You can always forgive the person, it is your choice.
With that said you never have to forget or forgive the action he did.
Forgive the sinner not the sin.
Depending on your belief system only the supreme being can forgive the sin.

That is a good question and one I am struggling with myself.
I think we must forgive for ourselves and not for the other person.
The anger and hatred we hold onto only hurts our own hearst and souls.
The person who harmed us does not even need to know they are forgiven.
You can forgive someone and still not see them anymore.

You have to do what is in your heart!!! Be the bigger person and when you forgive them it might really make them feel bad. 2 wrongs never make a right! Good Luck!

Forgiveness can only come from your heart. He may not be man enough to admit when he is wrong, but if you want peace, you have to be the bigger person and move on.

I have that very issue with someone. I CHOOSE to forgive, even though he thinks he has done nothing wrong. If I hold anger or bitterness, it will only pain me and do absolutely nothing to him. Let it go....for yourself.

Forgiveness is about what is in your heart, not that of the offenders. You have to find it in yourself if you can.
