Gary,
i fear you are correct in your assumption,
in the sixties many bands recorded songs that were anti
establishment, but a lot of them became the the very thing
they decry ed back then, IE the rolling stones no one was more rebellious, yet mick Jagger was whining that he had not been
knighted, a few years ago, then sure enough he was,
hows that for hypocrisy

Bono and Bob Geldof are the biggest hypocrites of our time - they think they are God, rubbing shoulders with other hyprocites like Blair and shamelessly promoting themselves as if they care. Everything they do is for their own ends.

As long as they actually DO something (which a lot do) they are not so hypocritical.
By world standards all of in the UK are filthy rich so it is a matter of degree.
They only get their millions because we buy their music. Would you refuse a huge pay rise?
Though to be fair, some high incomes ARE obscene....but so is world poverty.

As an Irishman I find Bono a w****r, he recently refused a charity who wanted to use one of his songs to highlight starvation in the world,
He wrote about bloody sunday that happened here in derry, the song was promotion for their band, nothing else

I agree, adopting a poor kid doesnt make up for the hypocrisy.
Brangelina gave 300K to have their baby in Namibia, that would be like me giving 3 cents to a local charity.
