Nag is Hindi for snake, so if it comes from the flower it must have a certain snake like appearance. I suspect the incense sticks are made with a lot of extra ingredients, woods and I suspect also honey.
Best source of Nag Champa incense is from www.greatergoods.co.uk. they do fair trade incense that is the best I have ever come across.
