How many females enjoy RPG/MMORPG?

I was wondering how many females play MMO's. I was thinking creating a blog for female gamer.

Based my observation, girls do love RPGs, but more of the RPG of adventure and big story, and less of the RPG of traditional gameplay style and repetitious actions.


MMORPG attract girls for its social factors since girls are more social concious, but a MMORPG will not be attractive to them if there are no people in that MMORPG that attract them.


The style of the game also influenced its attractiveness, Ragnarok Online for example is more attractive than more 'realistic' MMORPG.

I played EQOA for a year and FFXI for over a year and in my personal experience I'd say there was about 30-45% of the games servers populations were girls,(it fluctuated some times alot some times fewer were online at once) its really not as rare as you think to find girls who like games, seeing as alot of girls stay inside their home and lounge around when they aren't going out somewhere what else do they have to do other than TV/Video games you know? (no I'm not saying all girls stay home and do nothing just saying from what I've seen there are less females involved in sports/being outside than males in teenage years, and for adults I'd say both sides tend to just stay inside or go out places to party/shop, lol don't see adults playing outside haha >_>)

That being because most people quit their sport(s) at college age unless they are at a level of skill that they could potentially become a proffessional(it would seem).

I don't play MMO's, but I love RPGs like Final Fantasy.
