Of course, being on methadone when pregnant is not an ideal situation, BUT-Taking methadone during pregnancy is safer than trying to detox off opiates (including methadone) while pregnant. It is also a lot safer than self-medicating with pills (opiates) or herion. If you are addicted to opiated already & become pregnant, methadone is the safest. As long as you are getting your methadone from a legit source (a doctor or clinic), they should have plenty of information on methadone during pregnancy. Also, there is a group called M.O.M.-stands for "mothers on methadone". There is a lot of information available if you search for it. Going into withdrawal puts stress on your body & can cause miscarriage. Please send me a message if you want to talk privately.

NO! Who would even try such a thing? When I had my kids we didn't even take aspirin No drug is safe during pregnancy! Everything that go's into your blood stream go's straight to the baby! To even think that is may be safe to use methadone during pregnancy is ludicrous!

NO! The baby can be born addicted to methadone and may have to have methadone treatments to help with withdrawls.
