My boyfriend is taking a blood drug test next week. He hasn't smoked for about 2 1/2 weeks. Before the 2 1/2 weeks, he was a moderate smoker (a bowl per day/ a couple hits per day). At the time of the test, he will have been drug-free for a little over 3 weeks. What are the chances he will pass? He has been drinking a moderate amount of water and juice to flush the system. I know they say that it takes about a month (give or take) for marijuana to get out of system, but since he wasn't a heavy smoker, will 3 weeks be enough?

The answer is NO. When you take a "whiz quiz" it can show up from 30-60 days, depending on your usage, metabolism, and other factors. A blood test can detect the THC for a lot longer periods. Here are a couple sites you can visit for more info.

Good luck to your bf.

good luck on that
there is a chance, but a bowl or a few hits a day isn't light smoking. thc stores up in your fatty tissues, thats why it takes so long to leave your system. a hit here and there doesn't allow it to get out of your system. you can generally overcome a urine test, but blood and hair tests are alot harder. quitting cold turkey for a few months is about the only sure way to beat a fluid test. hair tests are a different story, i've heard they can detect traces going back years.... try checking w/ high times web site. they might have the info you need..good luck, like anything else it shouldn't be abused, but to have it be criminal makes no sense to me, especially when lawmakers can go have a drink after passing legistlation. alchohal has a bigger cost on society than all other drug abuse combined. contact NORML and see what you can do to help if you believe people shouldn't be discriminated against for using a naturual substance that the creator provided...

A bowl per day is not a moderate smoker. He will have to wait longer at least 4-6 weeks. Drink a LOT of water and juices. Try cranberry that seems to clean the system out quicker than others. Maybe he could play sick and get the date extended?

Sorry to say I wouldn't rate his chances. Tell him to deny ever having smoked it then if the blood test comes back with a minute trace then say he went to a party a couple of weeks back and maybe someone could have been smoking it there. Then they can't prove it was him deliberately taking it and therefore cannot discriminate against him!

It will be a VERY close call. Smoking it regularly can keep it in your sytem for about a month, and a bowl per day is definetly regular. Green tea will help, I am fairly sure, and if you drink ALOT of juice it might be out of his system, but theres no way you can guarantee something like that.

well for starters...it also depends on his weight. Heavier people will take longer for it to leave the system. Really he needs to give himself a good month to be completely sure. There is stuff you can by to detox your system. He may be safe. Though if he is at all concerned he may want to try getting a detox drink. Here's an example. I'm sure you could find one at a head shop (that sells pipes and things like that...) Or online.

He's got a good chance of failing. Here's why:
If it were a urine test, he might have a prayer, but a blood test is way more accurate. I have heard of blood tests turning up positives on thc up to 8 months after quitting smoking cannabis. I would reccomend lots of exercise. Why? Because thc is stored in your fat cells. So, anything you can do to burn fat such as exercise, diet, fat burners, and using natural liver and fat detoxifiers such as milk thistle will help as well. It must be a pretty important job for them to draw blood instead of taking urine. Do some online research into what blood tests can detect and how long they can detect them for. He does have a chance of passing due to the timeframe given, but I'd do as much research as possible, and get my butt in gear if I were him. Good luck!

Not with a blood test!! There is suppose to be something to help get it out at a Health store, but not sure what it is called!! Tell him to stop smoking it and he will not have anything to worry about!

It will most likely still take at least a month to get out of his system.

Marijuana stays in fat cells longer than the 30 days people swear upon.
