On Bended Knee and Water Runs Dry by Boyz II Men
Before You Walk Out of MY Life by Monica

Emotional by Carl Thomas (and remix w/ Faith Evans)
All Alone by Dru Hill
Emotions by Destiny's Child
She's Out of My Life by Michael Jackson
Bring Back Your Love by Christion
Brokenhearted by Brandy
Burn by Usher
Say Goodbye by Chris Brown
Cry For You by Jodeci
I'm Going Down by Mary J. Blige
Goodbye Love by Guy
Walked Outta Heaven by Jagged Edge

logan r, that's a beautiful list! lol

Most of these are not hip-hop/R&B .. but you said in the brackets that you were looking for a break up sad sort of song..I listen to a lot of hip-hop/R&B..but I find country songs..especially sad love songs..really pretty as well as some rock songs .. So the list is a good mix of country/R&B and rock.

We Belong Together - Mariah Carey

You were meant for me - Jewel

End of the road - Boyz II Men

O-Town - All or nothing

N'Sync - Gone

Jimmy Wayne - Stay Gone - it's country..but a really pretty song..It's about a man telling a woman that he loves her..but they just don't work well..-

Rascal Flatts - What hurts the most

Keith Urban - You'll think of me

Mario - How do I breathe

Keshia Chante - Since you been gone

George - Lie to me

Nelly Ft. Tim McGraw - Over and over again

Letoya Luckett - Torn

Sarah McLaughlan - Stupid

Hinder - You deserve better than me

Hinder - Lips of an Angel ..- Good song but more so not being able to get over them even when you're with someone else-

Amanda Marshall - Why don't you love me

Theory of a deadman - Since you've been gone

Lifehouse - Walking Away

Gabrielle - Out of Reach

Three doors down - Here by me

Shania Twain - It only hurts when I'm breathing

Toni Braxton - Breathe Again

Toni Braxton - Just another sad love song

Mary J. Blige - Enough crying -- that's more of a get out kind of song..-

Nickelback - Someday

Nickelback - Far away

Three doors down - So I need you

Philosopher Kings - It hurts to love you

Terri Clark - Three Mississsippi - A sad song about leaving..but it's more knowing it has to end..-

Carolyn Dawn Johnson - Georgia

Carolyn Dawn Johnson - Die of a broken heart

Saliva - Always -a little heavier than the other songs..-

Avril Lavigne - My happy ending

Michelle Branch - Goodbye to you

Michelle Branch - Breathe

Phil Collins - In too deep

Matchbox 20 - If you're gone

I hope these help ... listening to sad songs when I'm sad always makes everything much better...sometimes it's good to cry it out..or yell or mope..or eat ice cream..ice cream ALWAYS makes everything better.

I don't think I've ever heard a musician do a depressing song about the end of a relationship.

Another Piece of My Heart by Big Brother and the Holding Company, Heard it All Before by Sunshine Anderson, Survivor by Destiny's Child, Foolin' by Def Leppard, Love Bites by Def Leppard, Love is for Suckers by Twisted Sister. Those are the only ones I can think of.
