Mostly because of past experiences that make you either stronger or weaker. My family was not the perfect one, and to make a long story short, I cry really easy, whereas my husband, he had a normal fairytale family where everybody treats everybody with respect, and he is cold as ice, he never cries unless is about something that truly deserves it.

Mostly on past experiences. When I was young, I was hurt physically more than emotionally, and I developed a kind immunity to physical pain, not a "tough guy" thing. So, I don't usually cry when I get a broken wrist or ankle, but I do cry when I get the doctor's bill! It's well known that the pain is still there, it doesn't hurt worse than any other time, but the want to cry is much less.
The less that something hurtful happens, the more powerfully it hurts when it does happen.

I cry easily. I cry when something touches my heart. Or I cry when I'm nervous. There is really nothing I can do about it. It's just how I am. If you want to, you can talk to a doctor about this situation and see if you can get medication for it. If your too young to go yourself, and if your parents know about the situation, then you can ask your parents to take you to the doctor if you feel that this is affecting your emotions.

i think it's a combination of hormones, genetics and what we have experienced from our parents.
My mother doesn't show emotional easily, and neither does my younger sister, but i do, i am a very emotional person i cry at the slightest thing. I've found myself crying cos i couldn't change a light bulb before.
That's my opinion anyway.

People are different from each other. some are more sensitive and feel things more deeply than others so they cry easier.
but really, it's ok to cry. it's a way of expressing yourself.
but here's wat u can try (that's wat i do)
when u get a lump in ur throat and are about to cry, take a deep breath and swallow three times (it sort of gets rid of the lump that makes u want to cry)
good luck!
