I went about a week after mine. Umm you are not doing any thing wrong by taking a few minutes (since tanning only takes about 20 minutes) for yourself after having a baby. For me tanning helps my back problems and it also helped my scar, since you can't even see it now. My doctor even told me that tanning would help my c-section heal and she was right. You can't even tell I ever had a c-section. Just because you have a baby doesn't mean you can never do anything for yourself again. I have three kids, work full time and go to school full time so if I can do something like go to the tanning bed or whatever for even 20 minutes our of the day to get a little time to myself I do it and there is nothing wrong with it. Besides I can't stand it when somebody asks a simple question and people have to respond to it with there personal opinions that have nothing to do with the question at hand. When can I go tanning--not is tanning safe, or am I a bad mother for taking 20 minutes to get some alone time.

PROFESSIONAL, i have had two children both delivered by c-section and i would say after your out of pain and able to get in and out of your normal bed then you should be good to go in an tanning, but i dont put your health in jeopardy so i would just run it past your Dr.....also they say that if you tan over a bad scar like that it will make it look worse so you should ask....

I would wait a while! Tanning would make your scar more apparant. Let it heal completely first.....unless you plan on having it totally covered up.

You really won't have time with a newborn anyway.

And since tanning causes cancer, you might want to give it up so you know you'll be around to raise your child.

Ask your dr.

BTW - why are you so vain to get tan after giving birth? TAnning beds are bad for your skin. Focus on the baby.......

unless you are on certain medications, ie. some sulfa drugs, or other antibiotics, anytime should be fine. Consult your physician and congratulations!
