beautiful tiny white feathery bug?

last summer on my deck by the pool,a strange little bug landed on my sons head.I have never seen anything like it~ We all said it had to come from another dimension~It was a bug with fluffy little feathers covering its body,it was about the size of a raisin.It had 2 clear wings.
Has anyone ever seen it?

Sounds like a white-fly. The other possibility is a bee.

That's really bizarre; I'm sorry to say I've never heard of anything like it, but I've seen some other really strange bugs too. Maybe you can try finding its picture in a book or website for strange insects.
