She's a very close friend should I encourage her or discourage her

i would discourage her.. let her know that God made her a female because that's who she's meant to be, God doesn't make mistakes, why would she want to change the beautiful gift God gave her? have her seek spiritual guidance. p.s. you're a good friend for caring enough to ask this question.

Unless you have deep-rooted religious beliefs about it, I would support her as a friend the same way you did before you found this out. It doesn't change who she is as a person. I don't think you should encourage or discourage her. Just be there for her.

Encourage her to get counseling. There is a way to integrate her masculine tendencies into her female status---much easier than for a man to do the reverse. Plus, getting the man's reproductive organ is not so feasible.
But the main thing is that she needs to seek God in directing her and helping her overcome this problem.

You should encourage her. She's already had to go through life being one thing that she knows deep down she doesn't want to be. I would advise taking it slow if she does go through with it. Those surgeries can put a deep hole in your pocket.

If she is truely your friend you will love and support her no matter what. The person doesn't change after all, only the body.

she should do what she needs to do, you shouldn't take sides either way. respect your friend and support the choice. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of that one
