You are not even going to believe this....but apply DRY Comet cleanser with a damp rag and just wipe the grease away! You'll need to wipe with a damp cloth to rinse, but it works. The dry cleanser bonds with the grease and just lifts it up. Amazing but true. For baked on messes you'll have to rub a bit, but it's the same thing.

Any general household cleaner should do well.
Try Lestiol, great scent or Fuller Fulsol spray.
Method makes nice aromatic cleaning products also.
Mr. Clean, 409, Lysol or Clorox cleaners.

Mery Ellen is correct. My 2 year-old got the lid off of my deep fryer (Luckily it was cold) and got oil all over my unsealed hardwood floor in the kitchen. Comet soaked all of the grease up.
