I want to know what it is out of...and how is measures up to other high school students scores... anyone know???

When you got your PSAT score report it should have had a section that explains how your mark compares to other students. If not, you can google online for PSAT and find several sites that explain it.

157 is not bad but it is not nearly good enough to qualify for National Merit awards. You need about a 200 for the minimum National Merit, and about a 220 or higher for National Merit Finalist.

well... it is a decent score. On your score report, there should be a percentile right above the score you got. This tells you the percent of kids you scored higher than in America.

The average just is 50 (around there) for each section. SO the national average is like 150.

Of course, boosting it up would be very helpful. Like other people say, you need the 98th percentile of qualify for the scholarships (which is like a 200)

On your PSAT score sheet, underneath your selection index (157), is a number that indicates your percentile. This number tells how you stand compared to juniors in America who took the test. If you got a 50+, you are average/above average. 50- is below average. 157 is usually average/below average.

Add a 0 to the end and that's your SAT score. The max. per section should be 80.
