I worked. I suggest going to an auto auction. I bought a crappy looking good running car for 400. It lasted 5 years...actually more, I just sold it for 350.

u can have ur parents buy a car for u, and then when u graduate or get a job, pay them back

Just work you but off and earn it! Or maybe get a scooter, they are much less expensive and they do the same thing. Downside is they're kinda gay.......
