That's a good idea, I hate cold fries. If you go when they are kinda busy, more than likely they will have a batch of fries down and you won't have to wait long.
I have always made up an unusual order like no catsup or no mayo, so they can't just reach over there and grab one that's been sitting there! They put the standard mayo or catsup on everything! They always have to make a new sandwich that way. I use to work at a Burger King years ago and figured that out. They will make our fries with no salt to. If you frequent the same place they will already know to put them down when they see you coming! If you are a some random McDonald's who care if they get mad.

I run a fast food resturant not a Mc D. but a better Company and yes ask for Fries no salt at the very start of your order if you must.. but if it's a well run place
the mgmt would do what we call drop less more often!! so they are always hot for the customer. Nothing makes me madder than to get better fries at another place than what I serve
It does makes me think about what I do and how I can train my people to be the best at quailty they can be.. and sometimes you just can't please every one but you can try too...

Just tell them at the window or counter you want your fries salt free, fresh and hot and they'll make a special order for you. This is the case for MOST restaurants.

My husband gets them every time. After ordering, he says, "and I will wait for hot fries." They probably get this request more than you know. And he never forgoes the salt! That makes the fries so good.

That was my best guess. Just ask for them without salt. No salt what so ever. Tell them it has to do with a medical condition and sodium levels. Then add salt at home or at your table.

Ask for no salt. I always get really hot fries that way, but their fries never stay hot for very long.
