Its not ok for african american to say it either. and in spanish ***** means black. its not derrogotory at all. its kinda of a nickname or a pet name which some family members call eachother. its really just a name and people are making a big deal out of it.

Have you noticed that most of the responses you get to your questions and questions like this are from white people? I do not understand what message you think you are putting out there. I am white, proud of my heritage, I have a white husband and white kids BUT you make me feel ashamed of being proud or even to be white when you say the things you do. You have other little believers asking questions like "yo mama cook any possum tail bread..." do you realize how ignorant that not only makes you and your believers look but also the white race in general? I never understand why you guys think the way to spread your message is by looking so ignorant and uneducated.

People always ask this question on here and the question is quite rhetorical if you ask me. White people used and still use the word to insult blacks, black people use it amongst eachother as a term of endearment.

Oh my gosh not another one of these obvious stupid race questions that are only asked to instigate ppl. the word ***** was used by malcolm x in the sixties in lieu of the other n word. Its like we decided to give ourself a new title but even that has been negated. I think both words are disrespectful.

It is not an insult. Using the word ni**er is the insult. ***** is merely stating a race.

cuz if a white guy says it, its derogatory like the white guy is better than the black, but if its between 2 black guys then its like they are just equals talking. btw i didnt mean that white guys are better, im just saying if a white guy was using the word, it would seem like he thought he was better

The fact that both words *****, and ni**a were used by slave owners to show the balcks place in society probably has something to do with it.

***** translates to "black" in spanish and isn't a derogatory term in English either.

I have no idea & wondered that myself. But i think its offensive no matter what color person says it. It actually sounds worse coming from a black person.
