Christians don't like evolutionists, wiccans, witches, atheists and everyone else who doesn't share with them same beliefs.
Unfortunately, people of others religions, agnostics and some atheists do the same thing... Why they don't just calm a little bit? It's cool to believe some certain things but to say that everybody else is wrong...it is silly... Don't you think?

Not always, Zoe,as sometimes the evidence, not belief, is what is important. You said, " It's cool to believe certain things, but to say that everybody else is wrong...it is silly.." Scot Petersen said that very type thing. I am innocent, he said. The people said guilty. So it can be very uncool to believe certain things and you can be very wrong.

I agree, it is silly to say that others are wrong just because they don't agree with you. It's hard to understand why people can't just respect the beliefs of others even though they don't agree. Perhaps they are so passionate and sure of what they believe, they want others to feel the same way.

In the past, it was just a way to control the uneducated masses by the heads of whatever religion/church was in power at the time, which sort of still applies today.

I agree, people should cool down, but I guess it's just that for people there can't be more than one absolute truth. I mean, if you believe something and someone else believes something different then the question becomes, who's right and who's wrong. And people have a tendency to want to be right...

And yet, isn't part of independence believing in what you want, and who won't stand up for something they truly believe in?

Everyone who truly believes in something is going to fight for it, and that just means that others are going to have to lose. Sadly there can't be a perfect world, unless you were to give up free thinking and even then it wouldn't be so perfect...

Just a thought.

Fear of the unknown. What we don't know or understand is threatening, especially if we have partial or erroneous knowledge. Unfortunately, arrogance is a rather common and destructive human trait - the idea that our beliefs are superior to someone else's again stems from a lack of education. It is silly - an irrational fear - but although I can recognise that my fear of spiders is irrational, this doesn't make it go away. Sadly, lots of people would never even realise or acknowledge that their intolerance is actually motivated by fear. How do you go about tackling that?

Also, some people have low brain hormone levels, and for them, every challenge, request or new thing is painful.

They are clinically stuck shut. Therapy & medication help.

Havng a good attitude takes a decision and commitment to this value of openmindeness -- and some folks just don't share this value!

Yes. Truth is, none of us "know" anything, we just hope and go by faith with whatever. Our whole existence is a faith-based mystery. We will all find out the truth though, in the end.
